Coral Bay – Monkey Mia

7 Day Camping Tour

“Be Cooled in the Crystal Clear Waters”

DAY 1 Arrive at School 5.30pm, depart 6.00pm. Express overnight to Coral Bay stopping to buy dinner. (Or can be taken with you.)

DAY 2 Arrive at Coral Bay for breakfast, set up camp and spend day exploring, swimming and relaxing. During the day we take a tour on the Glass Bottom Boat to discover the beautiful coral reefs and tropical fish, and take a closer look snorkeling. Overnight camp at Coral Bay.

DAY 3 Leisurely morning on the beach, pack up camp, then after Lunch we head for Carnarvon. On arrival we visit Monro’s Banana Plantation and sample their Choc-coated bananas before setting up camp at a Caravan Park.

DAY 4 Today we head for Monkey Mia where we stop off at Hamlin Pool Telegraph Station (home of the world famous Stromatolites). On to the camping grounds with time for a look around and swim before dinner.

DAY 5 A full day is spent at Monkey Mia studying the Dolphins and Ecology of the coastal area, with a tour out on the Catamaran to study the areas Marine Life. Time for beach walking, fishing, swimming and just relaxing.

DAY 6 Packing up camp, we head for the Murchison River (Galena Bridge) where our last night is a Bush Camp. Collect wood for a camp fire and swim in the mighty Murchison. (Weather permitting). Make Damper in the camp fire.

DAY 7 We pack up for the last time and head for home. Arrive back at the School at approximately 3.00pm.

 

EXMOUTH – CORAL BAY

 8 Day Camping Tour

 “Be Impressed by our Magnificent Coral Coastline”

DAY 1 Depart 7.00am, travel the Brand Highway through Cataby, Dongara and on to Geraldton for a tour of town and Lunch. Heading out of town, our first overnight stay is a bush camp on the Murchison River (swimming [weather permitting] & campfire).

DAY 2 Pack up camp and head for Carnarvon. Here we visit Munro’s Banana Plantation and sample their delicious Choc-coated Bananas. Next we take a look at the Bibbawarra Bore (hot water springs). Heading for our Caravan Park we set up camp before taking a Town Tour and visiting the O.T.C. Satellite Museum.

DAY 3 First up, we take a brisk walk out the One Mile Jetty. [Australia’s longest jetty] then heading north, we travel into the Blow Holes at Quobba and also view where the ‘Korean Star’ was shipwrecked. Time for lunch and a paddle in the calm tropical waters of this secluded beach (suitable for snorkeling). Set off for outback Station for our overnight stay.

DAY 4 Morning tour of the Station Homestead and School of the Air. Packing up we head straight on to Exmouth with a tour of Kailis Fisheries and lunch on the way. On arrival at Exmouth we settle into the Caravan Park and take time out for a visit to Town Beach before dinner.

DAY 5 Full day tour of Exmouth and Cape Range National Park taking in sights such as the U.S. Naval Base, Blaming Head Lighthouse, Mangrove Bay, Milyering Visitors Centre and Yardie Creek Gorge where we take a boat cruise to view the spectacular scenery and wildlife. Lunch at Yardie Creek before returning to camp. Overnight stay at Exmouth.

DAY 6 Our destination is Coral Bay. We set up camp before our Glass Bottom Boat trip to view the spectacular coral and fish which the bay is so famous for. Time for swimming, snorkeling and some beach fun. Overnight stay at Coral Bay.

DAY 7 Early morning start for our trip back to Geraldton and our last nights stay at a Caravan Park.

DAY 8 Heading home from Geraldton to Perth arriving back at the school at approximately 3.00pm.

 

MONKEY MIA – GERALDTON

5 Day Camping Tour

“The Unforgettable Thrill of Nature at its Best”

DAY 1 Depart school at 7.00am. We travel the Brand Highway via Cataby and Dongara to Geraldton. On arrival we inspect the Maritime Museum before setting up camp.

DAY 2 Our destination today is Monkey Mia. Travelling via the Billabong and Overlander we stop off at Hamelin Pool Telegraph Station (Home of the world famous Stromatelites). Arriving at Monkey Mia we have time for a swim after setting up camp.

DAY 3 A full day is spent at Monkey Mia studying the Dolphins and Ecology of the coastal area, with a tour out on the Catamaran to study the areas Marine Life. Time for beach walking, fishing, swimming and just relaxing.

DAY 4 Today we journey to Greenough. En route we visit Denham (Shark Bay), with lunch at the Billabong. On arrival in Geraldton we view the town highlights and Fishing Boat Harbour before continuing on to Greenough where we set up camp. (Hall at Caravan Park)

DAY 5 Return to Perth along the Brand Highway arriving back at School at approx. 3.00pm.

 

MONKEY MIA – KALBARRI

5 Day Camping Tour

“The Unforgettable Thrill of Nature at its Best”

DAY 1 Depart school at 7.00am. We travel the Brand Highway via Cataby and Geraldton to Kalbarri. On arrival we set up camp and head for the river where we spend time having fun with Canoes & Paddle Boats.

DAY 2 Our destination today is Monkey Mia, where we drop in to Hawks Head Gorge on our way back to the Great Northern Highway. Travelling via the Billabong and Overlander, we stop off at the famous Shell Beach. On arriving at Monkey Mia, we have time for a swim after setting up camp.

DAY 3 A full day is spent at Monkey Mia studying the Dolphins and Ecology of the coastal area, with a tour out on the Catamaran to study the areas Marine Life [& Dugongs]. Time for beach walking, swimming and just relaxing.

DAY 4 Today we journey South to Galena Bridge [Bush camp] (or Greenough – Caravan Park [Hall avilable]). En route we visit Denham (Shark Bay), with lunch at the Billabong.

DAY 5 Return to Perth along the Brand Highway arriving back at School at approx. 3.00pm.
