3 Day Camping Tour

“Enchanting forests & Meandering Waterways”

DAY 1 Depart School 9.00am, travel the South West Highway to Dwellingup where we head for camp, unpack and have an early Lunch. Starting at midday, we have a half day of Adventuring – I Win, You Win Games (non-competitive, energetic, fun games) and a walk thru the forest to learn The Bibbulmun Track Story (bush survival & forest environmental studies). [Qualified/Experienced Instructors] Once finished, we spend time exploring our surroundings before dinner.

DAY 2 We start with a tour of the Dwellingup Fire Museum [with Video], then we board the Hotham Valley Train for a trip thru the beautiful Jarrah Forest. On returning to town, we have lunch in the Park at Dwellingup. This afternoon we have a guided tour of the Athlone Goat Stud with hands on activites. Back to camp with time for some Sports & Recreational Games or just rest & relaxation.

DAY 3 Pack & clean up camp. On our return journey, we visit the unique “Reptile Centre” for a guided tour of our Australian creepy crawlies. [Live] Lunch either at the Centre or Armadale’s Minnawarra Park before returning to School at approximately 3.00pm.

5 Day Hostel or Camping Tour

DAY 1 Depart School 8.00am, travel the South West Highway where we stop off at the Alcoa Bauxite Refinery for a full guided tour of the mine operations. Lunch in the park at Pinjarra before we head out to Dwellingup and our camp & unpack. Time to explore your surroundings before dinner.

DAY 2 Our first stop today is a visit to the Dwellingup Fire Museum & Exhibition (20 min video) before a trip back to yesteryear with a guided tour of the fascinating Pharmacy Museum. Lunch in the park then on to the Forest Heritage Centre – Forestry Cadet School (mud brick building in the shape of Gum Leaves). Time for some Sport & Recreational Activities back at camp.

DAY 3 A half days Adventuring – I Win, You Win Games (non- competitive, energetic, fun games) and a walk thru the forest to learn The Bibbulmun Track Story (bush survival & forest environmental studies). After lunch we head for the Baden Powell Waterhole for an afternoon of water environmental studies.

DAY 4 Today we start with a tour of the fascinating Athlone Goat Stud before heading to town to board the Hotham Valley Train for a trip thru the beautiful Jarrah Forest. On returning we head out to the South Dandelup Dam for a late Lunch. Return to camp for our last night Concert preparations.

DAY 5 Pack & clean up camp and head for home. Lunch on the Mandurah Foreshore before arriving back at school approximately 3.00pm.

 

DWELLINGUP ADVENTURE

3 Day Camping Tour

DAY 1 Depart School 9.00am, travel the South West Highway to Dwellingup where we head for the Baden Powell Waterhole, and have an early Lunch. Starting at midday, we have a half days adventures. [1] ‘Guide Me Home’, [Orienteering course] Following directions you must find all the little lost animals and bring them home safe. Next we have the [2] ‘Bibbulmun Story’ [bush survival & forest environmental studies] [3] ‘Kullari the Geko’ [Treasure Hunt] Where an imaginary hunt by students shows them the bush is a friend rather than something to be feared or conquered. [Qualified/Experienced Instructors] Once finished, we head for camp where we unpack and spend time exploring our surroundings before dinner.

DAY 2 This morning the Adventures start from camp. Once again we will be split into two (2) groups with two (2) activities. (1) Flying Fox/Abseiling (2) Mountain Bike Ride [Self Guided with instructions] All meet for lunch, then swap over activities. Activities finish by 3.30pm

5 Day Hostel Tour

DAY 1 Depart School 7.00am, travel to Armadale where our first stop is at the fascinating Reptile Centre. [Hands on activity] Back on the coach we follow the South West Highway to Dwellingup, head out to our camp and unpack. After lunch we have a half days fun & games with I Win U Win Games – (non-competitive, energetic, fun sporting games)

DAY 2 Heading thru Pinjarra to the Peel Estuary we split into two (2) groups with two (2) Half Day Adventure Activities. (1) Horse Riding & Hay Rides (2) Canoeing Adventure All meet for lunch, then swap over activities. Return to camp approx. 4.00pm

DAY 3 This morning the Adventures start from camp. Once again we will be split into two (2) groups with two (2) Half Day Adventure Activities. (1) Flying Fox/Abseiling (2) Mountain Bike Ride [Self Guided with instructions] All meet for lunch, then swap over activities. Activities finish by 3.30pm

DAY 4 Same as yesterday, we split into two (2) groups with two (2) Half Day Adventure Activities. (1) Rafting (2) Kullari The Gecko – Bush Craft All meet for lunch, then swap over activities. Activities finish by 3.30pm

DAY 5 Casual morning spent packing & cleaning up camp before heading into Dwellingup where we board the Hotham Valley Train for a trip thru the beautiful Jarrah Forest. On our return we have lunch in the park at Dwellingup before heading for home. Arrival time back at school, approx.3.00pm.

 

TOODYAY – BEVERLEY – DWELLINGUP

4 Day Camping Tour

“Enchanting forests & Meandering Waterways”

DAY 1 Depart school at 8.00am, travel scenic Redhill Road to Noble Falls and on to Toodyay. Here we do a Town Walk and guided tour of O’Connor’s Mill, Moondyne Joe Gallery and the Old Goal – (Work Sheets). We lunch in Duidgee Park beside the Avon River before our exciting Court Re-enactment, and try out our acting skills. Travel from here across to the Beverley Avondale Farm for our first overnight stay, unpack and explore our surroundings.

DAY 2 A half day is spent experiencing lots of hands on fun with animals at the Avondale Discovery Farm. (Work Sheets). After Lunch we head into town for a guided tour of the Aeronautical Museum & the Dead Finish Museum. Another night at Avondale Farm.

DAY 3 Today we travel across to Dwellingup where on Arrival, we set up camp and head for the local railway station to board the Hotham Valley Train for a ride thru the beautiful Jarrah Forest. On return, we have Lunch in the park, then head for the Forest Heritage Centre, with hands on activities. Overnight stay at Dwellingup.

DAY 4 A morning of Adventure with Mountain Bike Riding and Orienteering. We return to School at approx. 3.00pm.
