5 Day Camping Tour

“Follow the Avon & Rock”

DAY 1 Depart school 7.30am, travel east to Beverley where we spend the day at the Avondale Discovery Farm and experience some hands on fun (Work Sheets). Set up camp in Beverley for our overnight stay.

DAY 2 Heading east again, we travel thru Corrigin & Kondinin to Hyden, set up camp and have lunch. The afternoon is spent exploring Wave Rock, Hippo’s Yawn and other interesting geological formations in the area.

DAY 3 Early rise, with York our destination, we have an early lunch by the Avon River and take a look at the Suspension Bridge. This afternoon we visit the York Motor Museum and take a ride around the town in an Antique Bus. Next it’s an interesting talk and Poster Making at the Sandlewood Press before setting up camp for the night at York.

DAY 4 Fun and games this morning at the Hoddywell Archery Park where we are instructed in the art of archery. We have lunch in Duidgee Park beside the banks of the Avon River before our interesting court re-enactment and try our acting skills. This is followed by a guided tour of O’Connor’s Mill & Moondyne Joe Gallery and the Old Goal (Work Sheets). Overnight camp at Toodyay.

DAY 5 Pack & clean up camp before heading for home with a stop off at the Kalamunda Camel Farm for a camel ride and learn about these interesting desert dwellers. Lunch under the cool trees before we return to school at approx. 3.00pm.
