5 Day Hostel & Farmstay Tour
“Follow the Avon Ascent”
DAY 1 Depart school 8.00am, travel the Brookton Highway to our first overnight camp on a Farmstay and where we will spend the night in the Shearers’ Quarters. Spend the afternoon learning all about farm life with hands on activities.
DAY 2 We pack up and head for Beverley and the a full days activities at the Avondale Discovery Farm [hands on fun & work sheets]. From here we head for York and our next overnight stay, stopping off at Gwamabyne Park where we take a stroll along a boardwalk pathway with information plaques on the areas flora with a beautiful view of the Avon River and surrounding farmland.
DAY 3 First stop this morning is the Balladong Farm for a hands on tour. Next we visit the York Motor Museum and take a ride around the town in an Antique Bus. Lunch by the Avon River and a look at the Suspension Bridge. This afternoon we visit the Sandlewood Press for an interesting talk and Poster making. Back to camp for some Sports & Recreational activities. Overnight stay at York.
DAY 4 Fun and games this morning at the Hoddywell Archery Park where we are instructed in the art of Archery. Lunch at the park before our guided tour of O’Connor’s Mill, Moondyne Joe Gallery and the Old Goal (work sheets). Overnight stay at York.
DAY 5 Pack & clean up camp before heading for home with a stop off at the Kalamunda Camel Farm for a camel ride and learn about these interesting desert dwellers. Lunch under the cool trees before we return to school.
AVON VALLEY
4 Day Hostel Tour
“Marvel at the Beautiful Scenery”
DAY 1 Depart school at 8.00am, travel scenic Redhill Road to Noble Falls and on to Toodyay. Here we do a town walk and guided tour of O’Connor’s Mill and Moondyne Joe Gallery and the Old Goal – (Work Sheets). We lunch in Duidgee Park beside the Avon River before our interesting Court Re-enactment and try our acting skills. Travel across to York and unpack.

Our next stop is the Avondale Discovery Farm where we spend the day experiencing lots of hands on fun with the animals. (Work Sheets).
DAY 3 First we visit the York Motor Museum and take a ride around the town in an Antique Bus. Next it’s an interesting talk and Poster Making at the Sandlewood Press before our lunch by the Avon River and a look at the Suspension Bridge. This afternoon we return to camp for some Sports and Recreation activities.
DAY 4 Pack & clean up camp before heading for home with a stop off at the Kalamunda Camel Farm for a camel ride and Lunch under the cool trees. We return to school at approx. 3.00pm.
PERTH CITY
5 Day Hostel Camp
“The Best to Offer from the City”
TRAVEL DAY: Travel on Westrail Coach or Train to Perth arriving late afternoon. Pick up from Railway/Bus Station and head straight to camp. After unpacking, we explore our surroundings before Dinner.
DAY 1 It’s on to the Coach and we head for Perth City & the Francis Burt Law Centre – Supreme Court, for a tour and activities on our Justice System. Heading north, our next stop is the interesting Brownes Icecream Factory Tour, finishing with an icecream sample. After Lunch, we spend the afternoon Ice Skating before returning to camp. Tonight we do some Star Gazing.
DAY 2 Our morning is spent with a lesson & activites at the fascinating Museum of WA. [See the Dinasours] After Lunch in the Park, we travel to the Fremantle Literature Centre for activities on story books & writing them. Around the corner to the Old Fremantle Goal where we see what life was like on the inside, then it’s down to Fishing Boat Harbour for a Fish’n’Chips Dinner at Cicerello’s. Late back at camp in time for some fun & games Spotlighting, Supper & Bed.
DAY 3 Starting with a short tour of the Mineral & Energy Department, to see how & where Gold comes from, followed by a tour & Gold Pour at the Perth Mint. After Lunch we head for the World of Energy for an afternoon of fascinating experiementing {Choice of Subjects] Tonight we try out for the Black Stump Olympics.
DAY 4 A full morning is spent at the exciting Scitech Discovery Centre & Scitech Laboratory. This afternoon we visit Omni Theatre [Choice of Films], followed by creative activities at the Art Gallery of WA. Last night at camp set aside for Concert.
DAY 5 Pack & clean up Camp & load Coach. A full day of activities at the Perth Zoo with Structured Lesson included. Time given to connect with Westrail Coach or Train to return home.
