Go West has expanded its operations into Tom Price after it was the successful tenderer for the supply and maintenance of buses for Rio Tinto’s Pilbara iron ore operations.
A new purpose built depot has been constructed in Tom Price to operate and maintain the 23 buses for Rio Tinto, under the transport component of a larger contract won by Sodexo.
“This contract means we can invest in Tom Price by buying land to build a new depot and create job opportunities in the local community,” said General Manager David Haoust.
It is the second major contract that Go West has undertaken for Rio Tinto in three years, after being engaged to run the bus services for its Brockman 4 project.
