The latest technology in engines and buses was on show during a recent visit to China by Go West Tours General Manager David Haoust and Tom Price Maintenance Supervisor Claude Vander Merwe.
Bus and Coach International, one of the world’s biggest engine and bus manufacturers, invited bus operators from across Asia to view its factories.
The group toured a BCI bus factory in Xiamen, the Wachei Engine Factory in Qingdao and a bus factory at BCI’s parent company Asia Star in Yangzhou, viewing the latest bus models and engines.
“The new technology evolving in the bus industry is amazing such as battery powered buses, hybrid buses (half electric, half diesel) and new safety features, like electronic breaking systems, seat belt alarm systems and electronic driver fatigue management,” said General Manager David Haoust.
“Seeing this first hand means Go West is able to apply industry leading practices to its fleet and is at the forefront of the latest technology and systems.”
