Perth Modern School students got up close to a working gold mine on the Go West Mine Tours Experience Tours last week.
Students toured Newmont Boddington Gold Mine and were excited to see giant haul trucks up close and to peer into the great depths of the South Pit where the trucks and shovels were at work.
The bus took them through the heart of the plant where they saw how ore was processed to turn into gold.
Afterwards they enjoyed gold panning in the picturesque Boddington Townsite.
