The team of drivers who are responsible for the Whaleback transfers carry out up to 40 trips a week each, driving mornings and afternoons.
They transport BHP employees to and from site and the airport and carry out the Whaleback Minesite Tours through the Newman Visitor Centre.
Mt Whaleback is the world’s largest single open cut iron ore mine discovered in 1957 and named because it resembled the shape of a humpback whale.
